Heads up, there’s a new scam on the loose.

Many jobs and businesses in the country have been disrupted due to the ongoing global health crisis. That’s why many individuals have to come up with various ways in order to adapt to the new normal. Unfortunately, some decided to scam people.

This is what Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is facing right now as it received reports that some of its customers have been receiving insurance renewal offers through texts, calls, or house visits. To address the issue, TMP released a public advisory regarding the said fake insurance renewal. The individuals who are offering fake deals are posing as Toyota dealer personnel.

The public advisory also states that all Toyota customers are welcomed to report any suspicious calls, texts, or house visits from individuals who are posing as its personnel. In addition, TMP said that its clients must be more careful as the individuals who offer fake insurance renewal are asking for personal information and issuing payments.

“Please be careful of insurance renewal offers from individuals posing as Toyota dealer personnel. Always exercise caution in giving away your personal information and money to unknown individuals. Always verify with your issuing dealers before confirming any transaction,” said TMP on its official Facebook page.

TMP clarified to its valued customers that its accredited insurance partners include AXA, Malayan Insurance, People’s General Insurance Corporation, and Stronghold Insurance Company Inc.
