The return of the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) for its eighth edition is set, and Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is up for all of it as the Japanese marque will showcase its models including the Gazoo Racing (GR) series.
Toyota GR Supra
Under the GR series, TMP will display three models at the auto show, namely the GR Supra, GR Yaris, and the all-new GR 86.
The GR Supra is a 2-seater sports car that is now in its fifth-generation form. It is the first GR model to arrive in the country, boasting 335 horsepower with its 3.0-liter inline-6 twin-scroll turbo engine.
Toyota GR Yaris
Meanwhile, the Toyota GR Yaris is a hot hatch developed out of the brand’s passion for motorsports. Powering this vehicle is a 1.6-liter G16E-GTS inline-3 turbocharged gasoline engine capable of making 257 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. With those numbers in mind, the GR Yaris is one of the most powerful cars with a 3-cylinder power unit.
The third GR model that will excite visitors of the auto show is the all-new Toyota GR 86. Now in its second generation, the GR 86 gets a larger 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated boxer-4 engine, delivering 233 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels, providing a sports car driving characteristic.
Toyota GR 86
In addition, TMP will be presenting its hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), which are aligned to PIMS’ theme, “Mobility + Humanity: Innovating for the Common Good.” Included in the HEV show cars are the Camry, Corolla Altis, Corolla Cross, and RAV4. Test drive opportunities will be given to visitors.
“We are proud to support and be part of PIMS as it has always been a perfect avenue for Toyota to showcase its latest innovations and affirm its commitment to shape the future of mobility together with the passionate community of customers, brand fans, and car enthusiasts,” said TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Service Operations Sherwin Chualim.
