Toyota GR 86 2024 Price Philippines & Official Promos

The Toyota GR 86 2024 is a two-door, rear-wheel-drive sports car. For the Philippine market, this Toyota-made coupe has two variants. There’s the 2.4 MT, which is priced at Php 2,615,000, and the automatic gearbox version which starts at Php 2,755,000.

Under the hood of the GR 86 is a 2.4-liter boxer-four gasoline engine that’s capable of making up to 233 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. There’s a six-speed automatic version with paddle shifters and a six-speed manual gearbox model. 

The GR 86 is 4,265mm long, 1,775mm wide, and 1,310mm in height. It also has a wheelbase length of 2,575mm, and a ground clearance of 130mm.

The GR 86 in the Philippine market competes against the Mazda MX5, Ford Mustang EcoBoost, Subaru BRZ, Chevrolet Camaro, etc. 

Toyota GR 86 Launch

The 2024 Toyota GR 86 is the successor of the Toyota GT86. The latter was initially released together with the Subaru BRZ all the way back in 2012. 

The all-new GR 86 model in turn, was introduced to the Philippine market in August 2022. 

Toyota GR 86 Exterior

The 2024 GR 86 comes standard with LED headlamps with auto-leveling function. It also gets daytime running lamps, power-folding side mirrors, and a set of 18 or 17-inch wheels depending on the trim.

Also present for this model is a duck-tail rear spoiler, LED tail lights, a rear-windshield wiper, and rear fog lamps. 

Toyota GR 86 Interior

Inside the GR 86 is a well-arranged interior that can seat up to four occupants. Available driver amenities include a digital gauge cluster, a push-to-start button, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a tilt and telescopic column, and a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat. 

The automatic version gets leather and suede seats, whereas the manual trim comes with fabric seats. It also has an ample amount of cupholders and bottle holders, as well as a number of interior lights. Keeping its occupants cool is a dual-zone automatic climate control system.

Toyota GR 86 Tech & Safety

Handling safety for the GR 86 are seven airbags, stability control, a blind-spot monitor with rear-cross traffic alert, a pre-collision system, automatic high beams, and lane departure alert.

The coupe also comes with adaptive cruise control, as well as a limited split differential. 

Entertainment for the GR 86’s occupants is then handled by an eight-inch touchscreen headunit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This headunit is then linked to a six-piece speaker.

Toyota GR 86 Chassis

The 2024 Toyota GR 86 shares a platform with the Subaru BRZ. It falls within the sports car category, and its body style is a 2-door fastback coupe. 

Braking for this model is handled by disc brakes for all four wheels. It also has a hand-operated parking brake. 

The GR 86 then uses a MacPherson strut front suspension, and a double wishbone rear suspension.

For the Philippine market, the Toyota GR 86 has a total of seven color options. There’s Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Bright Blue, Ignition Red, Magnetite Gray Metallic, and Sapphire Blue Pearl. 

The Toyota GR 86 Philippines sits in the middle of the sports car totem pole when power is concerned. It outmuscles the Mazda MX5, but some options like the Ford Mustang EcoBoost and Chevrolet Camaro 3LT RS are slightly more powerful. When it comes to amenities, the GR 86 is sufficiently equipped and is on-par with its competitors when it comes to comfort.
