Subaru Philippines, which operates under Motor Image Pilipinas Inc., has finally launched the all-new 2022 Subaru BRZ for the Philippine market. The said launch took place at the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), and the said model is on display at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, until April 10, 2022.

With that said, the all-new BRZ for the Philippines matches up against the specs of the versions we’ve reported on before. It gets a new 2.4-liter boxer engine, which is definitely beefier than the old model’s engine.

At maximum, the new BRZ’s boxer powerplant can produce up to 228 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque. And of course, the said model is still rear-wheel-drive, and it also gets a six-speed manual gearbox, as well as a six-speed automatic just like the old version.

Subaru also gave the all-new BRZ a rear limited-split differential, a stiffer chassis, a longer wheelbase, as well as a sleeker exterior design. For that matter, the interior also looks cleaner, and more minimalist than it was before.

The all-new 2022 Subaru BRZ also gets loads of on-board tech. For starters, the automatic variant now comes standard with the Subaru EyeSight driver-assist suite. This collection of safety technologies includes adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree view camera, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, among others.

More powerful than ever

The latest version of Subaru’s 2-door sports coupe also gets a new seven-inch digital gauge cluster, as well as an eight-inch touchscreen headunit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.

Price-wise, the 2022 Subaru BRZ 2.4 MT is priced at Php 2,399,000, while the BRZ 2.4 AT retails at Php 2,499,000.

Besides the all-new BRZ, Subaru Philippines also launched the facelifted Forester at the 2022 MIAS. It is pretty much identical to the outgoing Forester in terms of mechanicals, though it gets the new EyeSight 4.0 which is also present on the Subaru Outback.
