Porsche collaborated with sneaker designer and influencer Sean Wotherspoon to create his edition of the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo. One of the most noteworthy projects Wotherspoon worked on was the Nike Air Max 97/1 under his name in 2018. Now, the challenge is to apply his style of designing bright-looking products into a car.

The 32-year-old designer and influencer visited the Porsche Design Studio in Weissach, Germany, where he oversaw the physical creation of his art Porsche Taycan car. Porsche premiered the finished product on its official Instagram account, showcasing the all-electric wagon-styled vehicle with a lively color blocking.
“Creativity thrives on interaction,” said Porsche Head of Style Michael Mauer. “As a designer, it’s important to question everything and always aspire to consider ideas in a new light. Working with young designers like Sean helps us to gain new impulses from very different product areas.”
Bright finishes
The colorful paint scheme includes Nash Blue, Sean Peach, Loretta Purple, and Ashley Green, all of which were named after Wotherspoon’s family members. Corduroy and cork are also the materials that the American designer wanted to incorporate into the Porsche vehicle, as these are used in his sneakers.
And as an all-electric car, the use of leather-free seats is a fitting choice. This is one of the many steps Wotherspoon took to promote sustainability, especially considering that he is a staunch vegan. The leather-free seats will be offered as an option for buyers of the standard Taycan.
“Striving for innovation drives me and I was fascinated from the start by the unusual materials that the Porsche designers in Weissach work with. We inspired each other again and again throughout the project and ultimately created a completely new type of vehicle design,” said Wotherspoon.
A sneaker-inspired Porsche
To complete the build, Porsche added 21-inch Cross Turismo Design high-gloss black wheels, a light strip with ‘Porsche’ lettering in black, and a rear wiper cover painted in high-gloss black.
