It’s combined with a new Turbo-exclusive exterior and interior trim.

Porsche has released a new crest and trim that is exclusive to its turbocharged models. This helps in distinguishing the more powerful versions of the brand’s line of sports cars.

The new Turbo-exclusive Porsche crest

According to Porsche's Vice President for Style Michael Mauer, the Turbo nameplate since its introduction in 1974 has become a brand of its own. “This is why we’ve developed a distinctive Turbo aesthetic. From now on, the Turbo versions will exhibit a consistent appearance across all model lines - one that is elegant, high-quality, and very special,” Mauer said.

At a glance, the updated crest can be described as a new modernized take on the classic and iconic Porsche logo. The Porsche coat of arms layout is kept, but instead of the familiar gold, red, and black theme, the new one is finished in what is called “Turbonite.”

This new Turbonite color is metallic grey in tone, which is more muted compared to the more colorful original crest. It will then be featured on a turbo model’s wheels, steering wheel, and front end. In the future, turbocharged Porsches will also get more Turbonite details on their front fascia, spokes, wheels, and side window surrounds.

The new Turbonite color will be applied to other parts of the car as well

On top of those bits, Porsche says that the new finish will likewise come on a turbocharged model’s air conditioning control panel, drive mode button, and belt straps. It will likewise be utilized as a contrast stitching color paired with a black interior on a turbo model’s door panel trims, instrument panel, and even door mats.

Of note, both the crest and trim were meticulously developed by the Porsche Color & Trim experts. The first car that will receive this update will be the next-gen Panamera which will be released on November 24, 2023. Eventually, it will make it to other models of the German brand.

If you’ve been keeping up with automotive industry trends, darker colors like grey and black have become widely associated with “sportiness.” One such example of this is Toyota’s Gazoo Racing models, which are likewise rich with blacked-out exterior parts.
