Peugeot Philippines is signaling its intent to join the local electric vehicle (EV) market by previewing the e-2008 at the upcoming 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) this April.
Peugeot e-2008
The Peugeot e-2008 is the all-electric version of the company’s subcompact crossover model, which we’re already familiar with. Peugeot will showcase to MIAS visitors the capabilities of the Lion brand’s electrified powertrains that aim to deliver zero tailpipe emissions.
“The unveiling of the Peugeot e-2008 at the MIAS is intended to give our customers a glimpse into the electrification of the Peugeot lineup. Peugeot has been pioneering electric vehicles since 1941, and the coming of the e-2008 to the Philippines culminates more than 80 years of expertise,” said Maricar Parco, brand head of Peugeot, Astara Philippines.
Since Peugeot Philippines hasn’t disclosed the official specs just yet, let’s check out the global model to see what we can expect in case the company has plans to bring it in.
While the exterior remains identical, the power unit is different
The Peugeot e-2008 is equipped with a 50 kWh battery and an electric motor, producing a total output of 130 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque. It can hit a maximum speed of 150 km/h, as well as run from zero to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds.
In terms of EV capabilities, the electrified crossover offers a claimed range of 345 km. The charging time can take 30 minutes only using 100 kW fast-charging DC charging.

Also joining the e-2008 at the Peugeot MIAS booth are the 2008, 3008, 5008, and Traveller. These vehicles will come with special prizes, as well as offered test drive opportunities.
“As with every model in our lineup, including other electric vehicles that we will launch in the future, each vehicle roars with its fierce design, imposing style, sheer driving pleasure, and sophisticated technologies. Every Peugeot is a masterful work of art with the heart of a lion,” added Parco.
The 2023 MIAS is happening from April 13 to 16, 2023, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
