The Trailblazer and Tracker joined the trip.

NLEX Corporation’s Lakbay Norte is back for its 12th year, and the company tapped Chevrolet Philippines to join its tourism program in Pampanga and Zambales. As part of the collaboration, the American automaker handed Trailblazer and Tracker units to 18 members of the media and content creators.

The Chevrolet Trailblazer and Tracker joined the trip up north

The Chevrolet Trailblazer is a subcompact crossover that replaced the body-on-frame, Colorado-based midsize SUV version last 2021. As standard, this model is equipped with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a jet black interior, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a host of safety features.

Under the hood is a 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-three engine good for 155 horsepower and 236 Nm of torque. It sends power exclusively to the front wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Meanwhile, the Chevy Tracker is the smaller crossover in the range. It is made available with the LT Redline variant – which adds red stitching to the jet black interior, red accents on the grille, and red trimmings on the side mirrors.

Propelling the vehicle with the content creators onboard is a 1.0-liter turbocharged inline-three that makes 116 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque. Instead of a CVT, the Tracker gets a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

The partnership wants to boost tourism

The Chevrolet crossovers were driven to Pampanga for its landscapes and top gastronomic finds, as well as in Zamboanga for its coastal and mountain range destinations. The partnership aims to boost tourism in the north and help local businesses in the area.

“We are happy and grateful for this partnership with Chevrolet Philippines – TCCCI (The Covenant Car Company, Inc.) as we share the same thrust of bringing the best and meaningful journey experience for the motorists,” said NLEX President J. Luigi Bautista.

“Chevrolet Philippines is glad to be the official mobility partner of NLEX for this travel and tourism program,” said Chevrolet Philippines – TCCCI EVP (executive vice president) and Director Lyn Buena.
