NLEX Corporation recently laid out the road projects under its expansion plans for 2022. One of these includes upgrading the Candaba Viaduct northbound that will commence next month. The company said that this upgrade is part of its commitment to ‘strengthening its infrastructure for safer travel of motorists.’
Candaba Viaduct
The northbound upgrade of the Candaba Viaduct will take about six months. It includes the replacement of 13 priority link slabs that connect bridge deck spans. The company said that, upon completion, the 5-km road between Pampanga and Bulacan will give motorists a more comfortable driving experience.
“We always ensure to maintain our assets for the benefit of thousands of motorists plying our expressway. Whether it is above the bridge or under the bridge, we keep on doing the upgrades for the Candaba Viaduct as we want motorists to continue having safe and comfortable travel,” said NLEX Corporation President and General Manager J. Luigi L. Bautista.
NLEX Corporation continues to improve its services
For the duration of the upgrade works, NLEX Corporation will enforce proper traffic management as certain lanes will be temporarily closed. A counterflow lane at the southbound carriageway will be open for smoother traffic flow. Also, traffic updates will be regularly posted on the company’s various social media channels which motorists can check out from time to time.
This upgrade project will be a follow-up to the completed southbound slab upgrade of the Candaba Viaduct last year. Since the Candaba Viaduct is a convenient road for driving between Metro Manila and Central Luzon, the company will continue to conduct improvements, major repairs, and maintenance works.
In fact, NLEX Corporation announced that it will construct a third Candaba Viaduct as part of the company’s 2022 expansion plan. Other projects motorists can expect from the company include the construction of the NLEX C5 Link Mindanao Avenue-Quirino Highway Section and the NLEX Connector.
