Nissan Philippines has been busy this year improving its lineup including the introduction of the facelifted Navara pickup truck and the local launch of the LEAF electric vehicle. But despite the tight schedule, the car brand remains firm in its commitment to give back to the Filipino community as it donated 4,000 meal packs to medical frontliners at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
Nissan Philippines stays true to its commitment
Present in the turnover ceremony was the Director of PGH Dr. Gerardo “Gap” Legaspi who personally received the meal donations. It is also graced by Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima and Nissan Urvan Pilipinas President Jay Jose.
“We continue to pay tribute to our healthcare workers who are dedicated in face this pandemic as part of our vision to enrich people’s lives. We want to give our communities especially in any way we can during these challenging times, especially those who share our bold and daring spirit to overcome odds,” said Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima.
The turnover ceremony was joined by the Urvan Pilipinas Car Club
Members of the Urvan Pilipinas Car Club also showed their support by helping deliver the 4,000 meal packs to the hospital. Taking advantage of the Nissan Urvan’s long and spacious cabin, the meal packs arrived securely and were distributed to the PGH staff, doctors, and nurses who work hard to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Nissan Urvan is the brand’s entry to the van segment which can comfortably seat from 10 up to 18 passengers, depending on the configuration. It is powered by a 2.5-liter YD25DDTi inline-four diesel engine that can generate 127 hp and 356 Nm of torque.
A great gesture to show gratitude towards medical frontliners
Previously, Nissan Philippines donated 1,100 meals to the medical frontliners at the Research Institute of Tropical Medical (RITM) as a way of thanking their hard work. The car brand has also donated numerous sanitation and hygiene kits to a local community in Pasig City. These efforts are part of Nissan’s commitment to enriching people’s lives.
