About time for a refresh.

Details regarding the next-gen Toyota Land Cruiser could be out soon enough after leaked photos of the SUV surfaced on social media. Just by the looks of it, the new generation model is coming with a more modern design similar to new SUV releases. It scraps the current model’s rugged and sturdy off-road appeal which most people are familiar with.

The front fascia gets a huge update starting with the redesigned grille that now looks bolder and more aggressive. It is complemented with what seems to be a U-shaped blacked-out air duct that surrounds the lower part of the new grille.

Another noticeable update is the redesigned LED headlamps that look a lot sleeker as compared to the current model. Each housing seems to include a three-cube design layout for the lights and a large boomerang-shaped turn signal lamp which could also function as the daytime running lights (DRLs).

Inside, there is not much revealed from the leaked photos except for one photo from landcruiserupdates shared on Instagram. The photo shows that the center console now looks more modern with the new layout of the buttons and what seems to be a floating-type infotainment screen. These are complemented by the slightly redesigned steering wheel.

Despite the changes, Japanese car brand Toyota still retained the boxy-type body style which has been the go-to design for the SUV since its introduction in 1951. Since the Lexus LX is a rebadged Land Cruiser, then we might be able to see it with a new face as well.

Toyota remains mum regarding its plans for the new Land Cruiser. However, it could be launched globally by mid of 2021 considering that it is now being shipped to different places. Previously, we reported that Toyota Motor Philippines is set to launch several models this year. Among the reportedly planned vehicle launches is the next-generation Toyota Land Cruiser, which could be introduced in the Philippines by the third quarter of this year.
