Toyota also confirmed that the Philippine-spec GR Yaris will come with a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-3 engine. This three-banger can churn out 257 horsepower and 360Nm of torque. Power is then sent to all four wheels via the GR-Four 4WD System.

For the Philippine market, the GR Yaris will have an SRP of Php 2.56 million

As of now though, Toyota Philippines is yet to confirm whether we’re getting the one with the six-speed intelligent manual gearbox, or the one with the continuous variable transmission. Regardless, we do know that no matter where it’s sold, this hot hatch uses a unique chassis made by combining the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) B and the TNGA-C. With this, the Toyota hot-hatch is much lighter and stiffer than the regular XP210 foreign market Yaris.
