Aims to provide a smoother trip this long weekend.

As the country is observing this year’s Holy Week, Metro Pacific Tollway Corporation (MPTC) has enacted its seasonal motorist assistance program called “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” or SMSK. This program aims to provide motorists with safer and more convenient journeys during the long holiday.

“MPTC expressways are open 24/7 to ensure the unhampered movement of goods and the transit of people on essential travels. Our team is always available to readily assist our motorists and efficiently manage the traffic flow on our expressways,” said Rodrigo E. Franco, MTPC President and CEO.

MPTC improved its services for the convenience of all motorists

The SMSK deploys around 1,000 patrol crews, traffic marshals, toll collection personnel, and security teams to ease up congestions from North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), as well as look after the safety and security of motorists.

Medical personnel and response teams are deployed within MPTC’s expressways in case of an accident. These MPTC personnel are made available in all rest and refuel areas to assure that all motorists will be catered to their mobility needs.

In line with MPTC’s SMSK, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has implemented strict guidelines for those who decide to travel during the on-going enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), which also runs within the period of the Holy Week. Some strict guidelines include the mandatory use of a face mask and shield, no talking inside public transport, and maintaining social distancing at all times.

To further improve MPTC’s services to motorists, the toll operator has upgraded its infrastructure, network, mobile application, toll collection, and account management systems to speed up transactions in all of its toll plazas.

“All these initiatives are part of our commitment to continuously improve and satisfy the needs of our customers. To avoid long queues at the cash lanes, we are encouraging our motorists to have their RFID stickers installed before entering our expressways and make sure that their accounts have sufficient balance to cover their trips,” said J. Luigi L. Bautista, NLEX Corporation President and General Manager.
