Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is celebrating its 60th anniversary of operating in the country.

Mitsubishi is in the country for 60 years now

The company recently held a ceremony in Santa Rosa City, Laguna to commemorate this notable milestone. Present at the event were Mitsubishi Motors Corporation President and CEO Mr. Takao Kato, MMPC President, and CEO Mr. Takeshi Hara, and Santa Rosa City Mayor Ms. Arlene Arcillas, as well as other executives part of Mitsubishi’s ongoing 60-year run.

“I’m very happy to celebrate MMPC’s 60th anniversary, as well as witness its strong performance, as MMPC has been one of the biggest automobile brands in the Philippines,” said Kato.

Six decades have passed since the automaker entered the Philippine market

MMPC is currently offering a wide array of vehicles to cater to different mobility needs, from the entry-level Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback to the flagship Outlander PHEV compact crossover. It is also offering the Mitsubishi L300, which has been the partner of Filipino businesses throughout the years.

Last year, MMPC finished second in the Philippine sales ranking for 2022, selling 53,211 units.

Mitsubishi continues its Life Made Better campaign

The latest model MMPC brought in is the new Mitsubishi Xpander Cross facelift, coming with a more aggressive exterior design and a revised interior. Apart from those changes, the 7-seater MPV now gets a new safety feature called Active Yaw Control (AYC), which is adapted from the Lancer Evolution series.

These models are offered to Filipinos through the automaker’s 69 dealerships across the country. MMPC promises to expand its dealership network as a way to support its goal of bringing a Mitsubishi vehicle to every Filipino.

In addition to its model lineup, the company rolled out the Mitsubishi Motors CARES last year, reflecting its commitment to deliver a satisfying car ownership experience by bolstering its after-sales program. These are said to be part of MMPC’s “Life Made Better for Filipinos” campaign.

“We have successfully surpassed all the challenges over a period of time, and we will remain steadfast and strong. We will continue to work as a team to further achieve our goals,” said Hara.
