At the 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), Chevrolet Philippines highlighted its challengers in the crossover segment, which are the Trailblazer and the Tracker. These are the bowtie brand’s entries into the local compact and subcompact crossover market segments respectively.

Chevrolet is expanding its crossover lineup

Let’s check each of these models out.

2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Starting off Chevy’s 2022 MIAS lineup is the all-new Trailblazer. Unlike the turbodiesel Trailblazer of previous years, this is a five-door compact crossover powered by a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.

At maximum, it can produce up to 155 horsepower and 236 Nm of torque. The said engine is then paired with a continuously variable transmission sending power to its front end.

Style-wise, it gets a front end inspired by the Camaro sports coupe. Depending on the trim, it also comes with LED headlamps.

It also features a comprehensive safety kit with six airbags, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision assist, pedestrian detection, rear park assist, rear-cross traffic alert, and many others.

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is available locally in two flavors. The entry-level Trailblazer LT retails at Php 1,488,888, while the top-spec Trailblazer Premier can be had for Php 1,621,888.

2022 Chevrolet Tracker

Next-up is the Chevrolet Tracker, which is likewise a gasoline-powered crossover. In terms of size though, it sits below the Trailblazer and it is classed as a subcompact crossover.

Under the hood, it uses a 1.0-liter engine paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox sending power to the front wheels. With this setup, the Tracker is rated to make up to 116 horsepower and 175 Nm of torque.

The Chevrolet Tracker subcompact crossover

Inside, the Tracker has a spacious interior for its size. That’s because it can fit in a maximum of 1,334-liters in its trunk. Its front cabin also features an eight-inch touchscreen.

Pricing for the 2022 Chevrolet Tracker starts at Php 1,142,888 for the entry-level LS trim. The top-spec Tracker LT Redline meanwhile, has a price of Php 1,242,888.

Other Chevy models that were also featured at the 2022 MIAS include the Tahoe and the Camaro. For more information on these, as well as other cars featured at this year’s MIAS, keep it here on Philkotse
