Mazda Motor Corporation announced its plans for the electrification and development of its models moving forward in the automotive industry. This aims to keep Mazda competing at a high level in the global market considering that most car brands have now announced their electrification plans for the years to come.
Mazda plans to develop its SKYACTIV-D engines with any form of electrification
Dubbed as “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030,” Mazda assumes that a quarter of its products will be fully electric in 2030, while all other models will be developed with any form of electrification. And by 2050, the Japanese car company is planning to head towards a carbon-neutral future.
Starting from 2022 to 2025, Mazda will introduce its “SKYACTIV Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture” which will be introduced mainly for markets in Japan, Europe, the United States, China, and ASEAN. This enhances its current internal combustion engines to be integrated with electrification solutions.

To further boost an electrified lineup, the Japanese automaker will introduce its unique EV platform called “SKYACTIV EV Scalable Architecture” by 2025. As for onboard technological advancements, Mazda is now working on deploying its human-centric autonomous driving system called “Mazda Co-Pilot” in its models which should be out by 2022. It monitors the driver’s conditions at all times so various safety features can be activated in the event of abnormal physical conditions such as autonomous driving and automatic emergency call.
The “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030” is driven by Mazda’s human-centered development philosophy that aims to place individuals at the center of three areas, namely the planet, society, and humanity. With this, the car brand’s vision will deliver both a sustainable and compassionate society in the future.
