Needless to say, the year 2020 has brought challenges that affected many Filipino people and businesses. It started with the eruption of the Taal Volcano and continues with the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite all the adversities, Lalamove in the Philippines sees this as an opportunity to not only provide delivery services but also hope on their 4th year of operation in the country. Lalamove Philippines started as a delivery van hiring in December 2013 and has developed into providing service with various types of vehicles the year after.

The quarantine restrictions have, unfortunately, caused some jobs to be suspended due to economic factors. However, Lalamove managed to sustain the jobs of its partner drivers with the help of the government.
This helped Filipino entrepreneurs grow their businesses as most of them still rely on third-party delivery platforms. Since public transportations are highly limited, Lalamove is widely used to move goods from one place to another as it offers same-day delivery services.
The limited public transportations also caused numerous jeepney drivers to lose their jobs as part of the national government’s initiative to reduce the further spreading of the COVID-19 in the country. Fortunately, Lalamove Phillippines partnered with the Quezon City local government to onboard displaced jeepney drivers to its platform, hence the LalaJeep was introduced.

Lalamove Philippines also gave back to the community by donating to frontliners through hospitals and DOH facilities. The delivery service company said that it was fortunate enough to survive in these trying times, so giving back to the community is the least it can do amid the ongoing global health crisis.
Moreover, Lalamove Philippines raised Php 2,200,000 after vowing to donate Php 10 for every order made from November 16 to 25, 2020. The amount was donated to its partner non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Gawad Kalinga, Caritas, and Kaya Natin Movement for those affected by the typhoon Ulysses.
