Hyundai Philippines is locked and loaded for next year.

On the first day of the first-ever virtual Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), Hyundai Philippines confirmed that it will be launching four new car models for 2021.

Hyundai PH's "Fab 4"

Collectively known as the “Fab 4” these include the next-generation Hyundai Tucson, the new Kona, the next-gen Santa Fe, and also a new Starex.

Now, we’ve already talked about these new models before, especially the upcoming Tucson. It is by far, the most striking-looking crossover SUV in Hyundai’s current global lineup, and it has proven itself to be a tough vehicle through its testing phases in Europe.

Next up is the new Hyundai Santa Fe which is a refresh of the fourth-gen model. While it is an update, it bears a lot of new onboard amenities, as well as a very macho-looking front fascia that takes inspiration from European automotive design cues.

Hyundai Philippines has also confirmed that it will also be bringing in the 2021 facelifted Hyundai Kona. Its front-end was redesigned to be given a sleeker, more elegant look, as well as a new 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that’s currently available in its home market of South Korea.

While we’ve talked extensively about the previous three, the new Hyundai Starex is a bit more elusive. We do know though that while the current one received a facelift back in 2018, spy shots have surfaced a few months ago of a camouflaged test-unit.

As far as those spy shots have shown, the upcoming Hyundai-made van will come with a redesigned rear bumper with extended taillights, larger windows, as well as a taller height overall. As for its front end, all we can see from the Fab 4 teaser is that it’s definitely sleeker than the current versions, as such we’re sure that it was given a bump-up with regards to its exterior design.
