Geely is one of the car brands in the Philippines that have had substantial growth since its reintroduction in 2019. Part of this feat is its fast-growing dealership network, as well as its initiative to further innovate its lineup. The latest dealer the brand has inaugurated was in Makati City which is marked as its 11th dealership in the country.

However, Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP), the exclusive distributor of Geely vehicles in the country, admitted that its success wasn’t easy especially during these trying times. But despite the challenges, the brand said that it will remain persistent and find ways to execute its plan of opening 13 more dealerships this year.
“We are taking a more aggressive approach in reaching out to more customers in the country this year as we keep up with our target network expansion schedules which were stalled by the long-standing global crisis,” said SGAP President and CEO Yosuke Nishi.

Under SGAP’s expansion plan, it will open dealerships in Iloilo City, Pasay City, Manila City, Santa Rosa, Angeles, Bacolod, and Dagupan. Meanwhile, dealerships in San Fernando, Marikina, Las Piñas City, Marilao, Tacloban City, and Taytay-Cainta should be completed later this year.
The upcoming dealerships will be joining the Chinese car brand’s established dealerships in North Edsa, Quezon Avenue, Makati, Baliwag, Cagayan De Oro, Imus, Cebu City. General Santos City, Davao City, Lipa City, and Zamboanga City.
“As the crisis is seen to take longer, this year will definitely be another tough year to battle for many businesses. On the brighter side of things, I would like to believe that Geely was introduced in the Philippines at the right time, at a point where buyers are now demanding for more high tech and safety features in cars they wish to purchase yet still reasonably priced,” said Nishi.
