Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) is on a mission to expand its business network in the country since its President and CEO, Mr. Yosuke Nishi, took office. The latest effort from the company was turning over modern PUV units to Cebu Provincial Operators Transport Cooperative (CPOTC) in the Queen City of the South.
Fuso Philippines is one with the government for the advancement of the PUVMP
A total of 12 brand-new Fuso Canter Express (Class 3) modern PUVs were handed to CPOTC during the turnover ceremony held at Poblacion III, Awayan, Carcar City, Cebu. The transport group can boast that it is the first to comply with the PUV modernization program of the local government in the region.
“We are very excited as we provide COPTC with our Fuso Canter Express which aligns to PUV modernization program rolled out by the local government here in Carcar City,” said SFP EVP for Sales and Marketing Mr. Noriyuki Sekita.
With the turned-over units, locals now have a comfortable and more convenient land travel option in the area. Underpinned by the Canter FE73 Platform, the Fuso Canter Express comes with an air conditioner, a front-facing seat configration that can accommodate up to 24 passengers, CCTVs, Wi-Fi, GPS tracker, and an LCD monitor.
The brand's top priority is providing quality transport solutions to Filipino commuters
COPTC can choose its preferred automated fare collection system. For some transport groups, beep cards are used as a seamless payment method. Users simply have to tap their card on the automated fare collection reader and they’re good to go. Plus, this method eliminates the need for a physical transaction amid the pandemic.
“This turnover ceremony signifies our relationship with CPOTC and we are very confident that Fuso will be able to provide more durable, comfortable, and safe transport solution to the public commuters of Carcar City,” added Sekita.
The turnover ceremony was followed by the opening of a new dealership in South Cotabato under the efforts of the brand to strengthen its name in the local market. This is SFP’s 9th dealership in the country managed by its long-time dealer partner, Mindanao Integrated Commercial Enterprises, Inc. (MICEI).
