Typhoon Ulysses affected many Filipinos due to the destruction it has brought to the country. Many parts of the metro got submerged in floodwater, which resulted in damaged properties that include flooded cars.

With that, Ford Philippines decided to lend a helping hand by providing a special discount of 20-percent on selected parts as well as on labor. Ford hopes that this will help customers get their Ford vehicles up and running once again. Of note, Honda Cars Phlippines, Inc. has also launched a similar program that offers discounted parts for Honda owners that got affected by the typhoon Ulysses.

Ford PH says the 20-percent discount is not valid for parts that are sold over-the-counter. The company clarified that the coverage of the discount covers customer-paid parts and labor only. program discounts are not convertible to cash.

“We recognize that the recent typhoon has caused damage to vehicles especially in areas affected by heavy rains and flooding. At Ford, we want to extend assistance to our customers with special discounts on parts and labor to make the repair more convenient for them,” said PK Umashankar, president and managing director of Ford Philippines.

  • Furthermore, here are some helpful tips Ford Philippines has given us for vehicles damaged by floodwater. Customers are also encouraged to contact their Ford dealers for more information.

    1. Do not attempt to start a flooded vehicle until thorough inspection and cleaning have been conducted. Try to disconnect battery terminals starting with the negative terminal.
    2. Take immediate steps to dry the vehicle as much as possible to reduce the time its components are exposed to water.
    3. Record the highest level of water exposure on the flooded vehicle. This will aid a qualified technician in the evaluation process as well as taking the necessary steps to correct any damage.
    4. Contact your Ford dealer to arrange for an inspection and evaluation of the flooded vehicle.
    5. After a thorough inspection, detail the interior and exterior compartment of the vehicle.
