The models are no longer visible on its website.

Ford Philippines has culled three models from its lineup, comprising the EcoSport subcompact crossover, Expedition full-size SUV, and Transit light commercial vehicle.

Ford Philippines only has three models left in its SUV lineup

If the noticeable absence of these vehicles from the official Ford Philippines website looked too good to be true, an announcement from the carmaker confirmed that these Ford products have reached the end of the line in our market.

“Ford Philippines has discontinued selling the current models of the Ford EcoSport, Ford Expedition, and Ford Transit,” the statement read. “Ford dealers nationwide will continue to provide after-sales support to customers and honor the warranties of these vehicles.” No reason was given behind the local pullout of these three models, despite the fact that they continue to be sold in overseas markets.

The Expedition dates back to Ford's Philippine comeback in 1997

The Expedition has been a Ford Philippines staple since the first-generation model made its debut in 1997, coinciding with the company’s return to our shores after 13 years. It spanned four generations, along with an extended wheelbase version of the 2007 model dubbed the Expedition EL/Max, sold in the Philippines as the Eddie Bauer trim from 2007 to 2010.

Meanwhile, the EcoSport was also a volume seller for the automaker, especially the second-generation model that made its way here two years after its global debut in 2012. Billed as the country’s first B-segment SUV, the crossover used the same global platform that underpinned the Fiesta starting from the subcompact car’s sixth generation.

Ford Philippines sold 1,500 EcoSport units in 2021

The Transit was one of the more recent additions to the Ford Philippines lineup, its fourth generation arriving here in 2019. This iteration was notable for introducing an all-new unibody structure that used boron steel, reducing weight while improving torsional stiffness.

For its part, Ford Philippines assures customers that it still has a solid lineup to offer, especially with the scheduled launch of the next-generation Ford Ranger midsize pickup and next-generation Ford Everest midsize SUV this year.
