In fact, there are 11 grille options that vary per F-150 variant. Without further ado, let’s get on to the 11 distinct grille choices on the new 2021 Ford F-150’s 13 variants and see how they differ from each other.
XL/XL Chrome

The 2021 Ford F-150 XL Chrome
This is Ford’s entry-level variant for the 2021 Ford F-150. As one can expect, the grilles found on the XL and XL Chrome look somehow basic. The XL features plastic vertical slats while the XL Chrome features less plastic and more chrome finishes.
STX
The 2021 Ford F-150 STX
The grille on the F-150 STX has a relatively simple design but still managed to be considered as one of the best looking grilles among the choices. It features a honeycomb-like black mesh grille design that gives the truck a sharp visual.
XLT
The 2021 Ford F-150 XLT
The Ford F-150 XLT’s grille shows a lot of similarities with the base variant XL. However, the XLT has a chrome surround around its black grille. Another difference between the XLT and the XL variant is that the XLT has horizontal accents.

XLT Chrome

Just like the XLT, the XLT Chrome also comes with chrome surround around the black grille. It also replaces the plastic materials found on the XLT with chrome which complements well with the F-150’s bumper.
XLT Sport
The 2021 Ford F-150 XLT Sport
For the XLT Sport, it ditches the chrome finishes found on the XLT chrome and replaces it with a dull black colored finish. The XLT Sport may offer the best looking grille among the mid-level F-150 variant.
Lariat
The 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat
For the Lariat variants, Ford designed them to have distinct grilles that automatically set them apart from the rest of the variants. The horizontal chrome trims are now slimmer and are moved closer to each other.

The Lariat Sport arguably has the best looking grille among the three Lariat variants. It replaces all chrome finishes with the same dull black finishes found on the XLT Sport. The bumper also gets a body-colored finish.
King Ranch/King Ranch Chrome

As the names suggest, these two variants come with a gold-colored trim piece. In addition, the inserts are also finished in gold. The main difference between the two King Ranch variants is the lower portion of the bumper.
The King Ranch comes with a gold bumper finish while the King Ranch Chrome replaces it with chrome.
Platinum
The 2021 Ford F-150 Platinum
The F-150 Platinum still uses the same grille features found on the King Ranch variants. The only difference is that the Platinum variant replaces the gold-colored finishes and replaces it with a silver finish. The same goes for the Platinum’s lower bumper.

Limited
The 2021 Ford F-150 Limited
Simply by looking at it, the Limited F-150 variant comes in with the most unique grille design. The Limited variant has a larger silver surround and silver vertical slats. It also comes with “LIMITED” lettering placed on top of the grille just to remind everyone that this truck is the top of the line 2021 Ford F-150 variant.
