In a report by the DPWH National Capital Region on its official Facebook page, the government agency is currently conducting repair works on the said flyovers in the city of Pasig. Commenced just last January 21, the rehabilitation project is expected to be completed on February 21.

The goal of the DPWH is to strengthen the bridge expansion joints, which is said to allow more stability to the structural integrity of the bridges. In turn, the bridges will be safer for the motoring public to ply on, reducing the risks of road accidents.

Heavy traffic is expected in the repair work area

Due to the ongoing repair works, the DPWH said that motorists should expect heavy traffic in the area. If you usually take the flyovers on your way to work or school, plan your route ahead of time to avoid inconvenience. As for motorists with wide vehicles, the agency advised them to use service roads as an alternate route as only 3.5 meters are passable on the outer lane.

Take note that the scheduled time of construction work is from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

The repair works aim to improve the stability of the flyovers

This is a follow-up to the initial road works conducted on the two flyovers. From December 2, 2022, to January 15, 2023, the project installed new bridge expansion joints on identified spans, making it passable to all types of vehicles.

Upon completion, the inner lane repair works will be one of the first DPWH projects this 2023 following a productive year in 2022. Last year, the agency constructed and rehabilitated over 1,000 km of roads. Some of these are the Samar-Pacific Road, Cavite-Laguna Expressway, Central Luzon Link Expressway, and Cagayan de Oro River Flood Management project.
