Here’s what to expect with Chery’s latest crossover vehicle. 

Chery Auto Philippines is all set to expand its fleet of crossovers with the launch of the 2021 Tiggo 7 Pro. It will officially make its Philippine debut through Chery Auto PH’s official Facebook page on January 27, 2021 at 7 p.m.

The 2021 Tiggo 7 Pro is arguable the best-looking Chery to date. It’s a five-seater compact crossover that features an aggressive yet sleek exterior design. The Tiggo 7 Pro is Chery Auto PH’s challenger in the growing crossover segment that includes rivals such as the Geely Azkarra, Toyota Corolla Cross, Subaru Forester, MG RX5 among others.

The Tiggo 7 Pro first made its online appearance during the virtual Manila International Auto Show last December 2020. With that in mind, the arrival of the 2021 Tiggo 7 Pro will expand Chery Auto PH’s lineup of crossover models, which includes the Tiggo 2, Tiggo 5, Tiggo 7, and the Tiggo 8.

Last year, Chery Auto PH lend us the keys to the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro to get a closer look at it. The 2021 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is fitted with sharp-looking LED headlights and a large grille that features a 3D-like appeal.

The front end also gets an angular bumper that adds a muscular look to the vehicle. The Tiggo 7 Pro doesn’t come with fog lamps but it has shark-fin LED daytime running lights.

Turning at the side, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with distinctive character lines as well as a set of stylish two-tone alloy wheels. The rear, on the other hand, features LED taillights as well as a tailgate-mounted spoiler with third brake light.

The interior of the 2021 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro features a two-tone theme of black and red. It has a premium-looking dashboard, which is somehow similar to the layout seen in the Tiggo 8.

Expect to see the Tiggo 7 Pro with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, electronic gear shifter, an electronic parking brake, a panoramic sunroof, as well as a 10.25-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link for Android.

Initial details also suggest that the Tiggo 7 Pro will be equipped with a 360-degree camera, and wireless mobile charging, a feature that’s somehow becoming a standard feature in Chinese cars. In terms of safety, the Tiggo 7 Pro is integrated with Driver and Front Passenger airbags, as well as front side airbags.

It also has an anti-lock brake system with electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability program, brake assist, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent assist, among others.

Under the hood, the 2021 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that delivers 145 hp and 230 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a continuously variable transmission. During the Tiggo 7 Pro’s pre-launch test drive, we managed to get a fuel economy of 8.7 km/l while driving at an average speed of 40 km/h along EDSA.

The official pricing of the Tiggo 7 Pro will most likely be announced during its virtual launch on January 27 at Chery Auto PH’s Facebook page. However, we’re guessing that the said compact crossover will be priced under Php 1.5 million.
