2021 Mazda MX-5 is now up for pre-order.

Mazda Philippines is capping off the year on a high note as it announced that local car buyers can now pre-order the 2021 MX-5. Not just that, Mazda PH wants you to customize your own 2021 Miata through its Build Your Personal MX-5 Program.

Mazda PH says a total of 78 combinations are possible when you pre-order the 2021 MX-5. As such, you can configure the MX-5 based on your personal preference and taste. Think of it like you’re playing Need for Speed where you can choose the car’s exterior color, interior trim, and so on.

The Build Your Personal MX-5 Program lets you choose your preferred transmission or if you want to have the car with a soft-top or a retractable fastback.

The 2021 MX-5 soft top is available with a six-speed manual transmission as well as red Nappa or premium black leather seats, a 9-speaker Bose sound system, and Bilstein dampers and front strut bars.

Moreover, the 2021 MX-5 is available with a new soft top color dubbed Dark Cherry. This color is on top of the current black soft top. Mazda PH also shared that the 2021 Mazda MX-5 is available with a new Deep Crystal Blue Mica exterior paint.

As a whole, this program is similar to how you order cars from luxury sports car brands such as Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, among others.

Mazda Philippines president and CEO Steven Tan said that this customization program for the 2021 MX-5 gives interested individuals an “opportunity to personally design and customize their very own MX-5.” This can be accessed to its interactive online and showroom ordering guide. Mazda PH is already working on the new look of its website.

Mazda PH said that orders of the customized Mazda MX-5 are expected to take an average lead time of between four to six months, depending on production allocation capacity and shipping logistics timing. As such, you need to be patient when you opt to drive your personalized 2021 Mazda MX-5.

The customized pre-order will be initiated by a reservation fee in any of the 19 Mazda dealerships nationwide. The company said that its sales consultants are ready to handle client requests and orders through this program.

In case you’re wondering, all Mazda MX-5 variants are powered by the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine that produces 181 hp and 205 Nm of torque.

The 2021 MX-5 is also going to be enrolled in Mazda’s 5-year free service plan that includes all expenses of periodic maintenance at either six-month or 10,000 km intervals, for up to five years or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.

The five-year free service plan includes replacement parts, Shell Helix Professional fully synthetic oil, as well as labor costs. With the new service plan, the company says that its clients can save Php 90,000 to Php 150,000, depending on the Mazda vehicle they own.
