While the Bentley Bentayga can be considered one of the most luxurious SUVs you’ll find on the planet, spending long hours sitting in one might not be good for your posture. The luxury automaker has a solution with Airline Seat specification on the model’s longer version.
These seats can help you maintain (and even correct) your posture
This feature will be among the amenities on board the Bentayga Extended Wheel Base (EWB), set to premiere in the third quarter of 2022 as a standalone model. According to Bentley, the upcoming SUV’s rear seat will yet be the most dedicated to occupant well-being in the world.
Comprising 12 electric motors and three intelligent pneumatic valve electronic control units (ECUs), the Bentayga EWD’s rear thrones can make 177 individual pressure changes across six fully independent pressure zones. Users can choose between 22 different power adjustments, with an electric foot rest thrown in for good measure.
Relaxation is just a finger tap away
A Postural Adjustment system uses pneumatic activation zones to regulate the contact pressure between the seat and the body, reducing fatigue. There’s no on-call massage therapist hiding behind the plush upholstery, although Bentley collaborated with an actual chiropractor and automotive seat company Comfort Motion Global (CMG) to develop the system.
Further cushioning and backrest bolster adjustments are also in store with the Airline Seat Specification, adding a cushion extension and electrically adjustable height adjustment for the head restraint, which users can lean back by 40 degrees.
But it doesn’t stop with just having the ideal seating position. The Bentayga EWB also uses an automatic climate control system that senses temperature and humidity every 25 milliseconds. This ensures that the cabin has just the right temperature regardless of conditions outside.
While seat heating has been carried over, an upgraded ventilation fan in the seats delivers up to 80 percent more air compared to the previous setup.
The ultra-luxury SUV will be coming out in the third quarter of 2022
If you’re still up for some revenge travel via first-class accommodations on air travel, the Airline Specification Seats on the upcoming Bentley Bentayga EWB lets you experience it every day instead. The only caveat there is that the SUV’s $230,000 (Php 13 million) price tag doesn’t include in-flight refreshments.
