What would you do if you won the Grand Lotto’s prize money? Buy a fancy house perhaps? Or you might want to donate a portion of it to charities, and even start your own business. You might also consider buying yourself several pairs of sneakers, a duo of 900cc motorbikes, and even a fleet of brand-new cars. The sky’s the limit, right?
But a certain individual in the Philippines doesn’t need to win the Grand Lotto to have all that. He/She already has it all and is pretty much loaded with hard-earned cash. Why so? Well, the wealthy individual just purchased an Aston Martin Valkyrie, priced around USD 3 million (around Php 167.9 million in current exchange rates, and before taxes and import duties).
Aston Martin Philippines did not reveal the identity of the mystery buyer, for obvious reasons. The car brand has also not shared the exact specification of the PH-bound Aston Martin Valkyrie.
The Valkyrie is a hypercar that’s built and designed by Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing. It is equipped with a hybrid V12 powertrain developing maximum power of 1,160 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Aston Martin said that the Valkyrie is integrated with technologies taken directly from Formula One.
It is also specified as a track-only hypercar, which means that it is meant to be driven on racetracks only. As such, there might be a slim chance for most of us to spot this hypercar in the metal. It’s either you chance upon it at Clark International Speedway or Batangas Racing Circuit.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie is also a limited-production model. Only 150 units will be produced globally, and the wealthy mystery buyer in the Philippines will have one unit parked in his/her garage soon. Told you, he/she is loaded with cash.
The Valkerie is produced in Aston Martin’s UK Headquarters in Gaydon. A team of technicians is hand-building each of the 150 cars. Last November 2021, the first Valkyrie customer car have been completed.
Meanwhile, DBPhils Motorsports Inc., the official importer and distributor of the Aston Martin and McLaren vehicles in the country, announced the models that can be bought locally. The Aston Martin Vantage F1 Edition and the DBX 707 are confirmed to arrive in the Philippine market this year.
