The COVID-19 pandemic taught us to never take safety measures or protocols for granted. For this reason, the Lipa City government distributed 40 units of the Nissan Navara pickup to its barangays in an effort to further enhance the barangays’ respective responsive teams.
The “Team Talino at Puso” trucks turn over was led by Sen. Ralph Recto, Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa, and Vice Mayor MakMak Luancing along with the barangay officials.
These trucks are part of an initiative from the offices of Sen. Recto, Deputy Speaker Batangas 6th District Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto, and the Lipa City Government.

“These challenging times call for smart and compassionate action. These vehicles are part of Team Talino and Puso programs that provide timely support and services for our constituents,” said Recto.
As of now, the Region IV-A: CALABARZON is doing a relatively good job in dealing with the global health virus with 1,554 COVID-19 cases along with 426 recovered cases, and 3 recorded deaths.
With the new Navara pickups now used, Batangas City can further improve its campaign of flattening the curve.
“These multipurpose, durable, and reliable vehicles empower our barangays to advance crucial services to more Lipeños faster,” said Mayor Africa.

The 40 Nissan Navara turn over
Nissan says that Nissan Navara can respond to emergency calls effortlessly thanks to the pickup truck’s fully-boxed ladder frame and its solid five-link rear suspension that will help the pickup drive through even the toughest of roads.
In addition, flood-prone areas are not a problem for the Navara thanks to its 245 mm ground clearance.
Powering the Navara is a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder VGS engine paired to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.
