We reported a few days ago that Toyota has already revealed the upcoming 2022 Toyota GR 86. Now, its brother, the Subaru BRZ, now takes over the spotlight as it will be receiving some delicious-looking accessories from Subaru Tecnica International (STI).
The fully accessorized 2022 Subaru BRZ
No, they aren’t turning the 2022 BRZ into an actual STI model, but with the impending release of these parts in Japan sometime in June, the said coupe can be upgraded further.
These accessories are a rear diffuser extension, side-skirt extensions, a roof garnish, a carbon fiber rear wing, and a set of 18-inch, ten-spoke, BBS lightweight wheels. Of note, the said wheels come with STI badging.
Big ol' wing equals a lot of cool points
For those who are really serious about squeezing more performance out of the said model, there’s also an STI performance muffler pack. There’s also a V-shaped strut-brace, which can help further reduce flex and improve rigidity.
Prices for these official BRZ STI parts are yet to be announced by Subaru. If we have to guess though, one might need to fork out a significant amount of dough for the strut-brace and the muffler pack.

For those unaware, the Japanese-spec second-generation Subaru BRZ uses a new 2.4-liter boxer-four engine that it shares with the Toyota GR 86. On the Subaru-made model, it can produce up to 228 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Subaru BRZ accessories are set to be launched in the Japanese Domestic Market only for now. It won’t be too far-off a guess however, that these might come available where the second-generation BRZ is sold.
Nothing says race like strut brace
Motor Image Pilipinas has already confirmed that the all-new Subaru BRZ is indeed coming to the local market. To be more specific, the two-door coupe will be reaching our shores sometime around the fourth quarter of 2021.
Going back to the Toyota GR 86, we can then speculate that the Toyota-made sports car might also receive its own set of accessories in the future. Of course, these might come from Gazoo Racing, and will most likely look different from the BRZ’s accessories.
