As we’ve reported, Ford Thailand has officially launched the next-generation Ranger Raptor at the 2022 Bangkok International Motor Show. Besides that, though, it has also brought in the all-new 2022 Ford Everest at the same event.

This is big news in relation to the Philippine market, as Ford Philippines sources its stock of Everest units from the Land of Smiles.
Like the new Ranger, the all-new Ford Everest for the Thai market is a next-generation model. It also sports a pair of C-shaped headlamps, a new grille, and the same front fascia as its pickup truck sibling.
With regards to its mechanicals, it now has a 50mm wider track as well as a longer wheelbase measuring 2,900mm. The old Everest had a wheelbase length of 2,850mm. This might mean more stability, and even more usable interior space. Its dampers were also improved for better control off-road, whilst providing optimum comfort for its seven occupants.
The 2022 Everest is more than equipped to deal with rough terrain
Under the hood, the Thai-spec 2022 Ford Everest gets two engine choices. The first of these is a 2.0-liter single turbo diesel engine. At most, this powertrain can deliver 170 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Then there’s the more powerful 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel that can produce up to 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
For transmissions, the Thai-spec Everest either gets a six-speed automatic or a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Regarding on-board tech, the Thai-spec 2022 Ford Everest gets plenty. Depending on the trim, it comes kitted out with a huge 12-inch touchscreen headunit, as well as an equally sizable 12.4-inch digital gauge cluster. The aforementioned headunit now comes with Ford’s new SYNC4 system, which is able to handle voice commands.

Safety features are also plentiful for the next-gen Thai-spec Everest. Specifically, it now gets steering assist feature, which can aid drivers to avoid collisions. Also included is an intelligent cruise control system, lane hold assist, the new Active Park Assist 2.0, among others.
While the next-gen 2022 Everest for Thailand sounds exciting, Ford Philippines is yet to confirm as to how our upcoming version will be specced. Hopefully, it will be up-to-par with the Thai version.
