This new model from the blue oval brand, however, has two different variants to choose from in the Philippine market. There’s the Territory Titanium and the Territory Titanium X.

So which one’s the right one for you? Well, let us help you answer that question by comparing these two trims against each other.

Ford Territory Variants: Exterior

When it comes to styling, the Titanium and Titanium X are pretty similar to each other. Both get sharp-looking LED headlamps together with a pair of eye-catching hook-shaped LED daytime running lamps. Both also sport a honeycomb grille and front fog lamps.

The headlamp cluster is particularly flashy (Pictured: Titanium X)

The side portions of the Territory Titanium and Titanium X have the same prevailing shape. Furthermore, it is also from this side where one can see that both get power-adjustable side mirrors, and chrome door handles.

Other features common between the two variants include rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, a rear spoiler, and LED taillights.

With regards to what’s different between the two trim’s exteriors, the Titanium X does get a larger 19-inch wheelset, while the Titanium uses a smaller 18-inch set. The Titanium X is also equipped with a panoramic moonroof and a hands-free liftgate which are not present on the entry-level Titanium.

Ford Territory Variants: Interior

Step inside both Territory trims and one will find space enough for five. Both also provide ample driver-centric equipment and more than enough features for extra convenience.

For starters, the Titanium and Titanium X variants are kitted out with a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a push-to-start button with keyless entry, a tilt and telescopic steering column, digital gauge clusters, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Also common between the two is a dual-zone automatic climate control system, 60:40 split-folding second-row seats, as well as a second-row center armrest.

The Titanium X however, does get perforated leather seats, while the Titanium comes with perforated partial leather seats. Also, only the top-spec model gets ventilated front seat.

Both trims get a spacious trunk (Pictured: Titanium X)

Lastly, only the Titanium X comes with an Air Anion Generator PM 2.5 air quality monitor and ionizer. Of note, this ensures cabin air quality by staving off pollutants.

Ford Territory Variants: Tech & Safety

For onboard entertainment, both Territory variants come standard with a 12-inch touchscreen with Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Both also get a wireless charger, rear and front USB ports, and a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet.

The Titanium X gets more speakers numbering eight, whereas the Titanium gets six speakers.

The Territory Titanium X gets a larger digital gauge cluster

Standard equipment for crash safety that are present on both Territory variants include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, hill launch assist, hill-descent control, anti-lock braking with electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, electronic stability control, an engine immobilizer, car alarm, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Both variants likewise get a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, an active park assist system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a high-definition 360-degree camera.

Both trims get a 12-inch touchscreen headunit

But then again, the Titanium X is the only trim that comes with a full complement of active driver-assistive features. Chief among these is adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and collision mitigation, among others.

Ford Territory Variants: Engine & Performance

Under the hood of both Ford Territory variants is a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine that’s capable of producing up to 158 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque.

Both trims are front-wheel-drive, and both use a seven-speed automatic gearbox that’s controlled via a rotary e-shifter.

Braking for both trims is provided by disc brakes for all four wheels.

Ford Territory Variants: Conclusion

In our assessment, it's quite clear as to which trim a buyer would choose.

For those who are very particular about car safety, then the Titanium X might be for you since it gets a whole lot more active driver-assistive bits than the entry-level version.

The all-new 2023 Ford Territory, especially the Titanium X gets plenty of safety features

If too many hand-holdy safety technologies bother you though, you might want to lean more toward the entry-level Titanium trim. It has enough tech to ensure crash safety, but its kit certainly won’t overwhelm a tech-averse buyer.

The Titanium X also gets slightly more toys than the Titanium. Do remember that only the top-spec version gets ventilated front seats and a moonroof. Plus, it even gets more speakers which means potentially better sound quality.
