After its debut in the ASEAN market, the next-generation Ford Territory is coming to the Philippines. Clear indications for this were shown by Ford Philippines’ video teaser for the said vehicle.
Next-gen Ford Territory teaser video
Just like most teasers, the video is short and it did not show many details about the upcoming vehicle. The Territory itself was shrouded in shadow, but the shape of its LED daytime running lamps (DRL), and its taillights were glowing and visible.
The LED DRLs, for starters, are the exact same hook-shaped ones from the Ford Territory that premiered for the ASEAN market in Vietnam. The inverted L-shaped LED taillights are likewise identical to the Vietnamese-spec Territory.
The teaser in question also flashed the vehicle’s hazard lights for a short while, revealing the vehicle’s front silhouette. From this, the grille is also slightly visible, and it bears the same octagonal shape as the Vietnamese-spec model.
2023 Ford Territory for the Vietnamese market
For now, no further information about the upcoming next-generation Territory was revealed by Ford Philippines. If we further referenced the ASEAN model that debuted in Vietnam however, then our version might get a 1.5-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine that's paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. At maximum, this powertrain is capable of producing up to 170 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque.
The interior of the Vietnamese-spec model Territory then comes with a 12-inch touchscreen headunit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The said touchscreen is then seamlessly linked to a 12-inch digital instrument cluster to form a wide panoramic screen.
Other features found on the next-gen Territory that we can also expect on the upcoming Philippine-spec model include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, auto start-stop, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, etc.
Inside the Vietnamese-spec Territory
Do note also that if our version is indeed the same as the Vietnamese-spec Territory, then this likewise means that our upcoming version might be sourced from the Ford Plant in Hai Duong City, Vietnam as well.
That said, Ford Philippines could use the upcoming 2023 Manila International Auto Show this April to showcase the next-gen Territory’s debut.
As with most speculations derived from car teasers though, do take our guesses here with a healthy grain of salt. Also, you should stay here on Philkotse for more updates on the upcoming 2023 Ford Territory.
