To make it ready for adventures, the Ranger Wildtrak X gets a number of unique exterior bits. Chief among these is an improved version of the existing Wildtrak grille with integrated auxiliary LEDs. Further below is a steel bash plate for added protection.

The side is then reinforced by cast aluminum side steps. Other parts found on the side of the Wildtrak X like its mirror caps, and door handles are colored in asphalt black for added style.

Found on the bed of the Ranger Wildtrak X is the Ford Sliding Rack System. Note that this is the same cargo system that was fitted on the Stormtrak, and on the Wildtrak X, it also comes in the form of a sports bar that can be locked in different positions on the bed. This allows the truck to carry particularly long items like canoes, surfboards, etc.

Further elevating the adventure-ready look of the Wildtrak X is a new Cyber Oranger Color, Wildtrak X badging, and a set of 17-inch wheels wrapped in knobby all-terrain tires.

Step inside this new model and one will find a cabin that’s similar to the regular Wildtrak. It does get some unique interior bits like the embroidered Wildtrak X on the seat backs, floor mats, and glove box. Orange accents are likewise found on the seats, the gear shifter, the dashboard, and the steering wheel.

Like the Stormtrak, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X also uses a 2.0-liter biturbo diesel engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. At the maximum, the said powertrain is capable of making up to 210 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

Unlike the regular Ranger Wildtrak that uses a part-time four-wheel-drive (4WD) system, the Wildtrak X gets a more robust full-time 4WD with “Hi or Lo” drive modes.  Paired with the new position-sensitive Bilstein Dampers with external reservoirs and the new springs, the Wildtrak X makes for a highly capable offroad machine.

Other driving features added to the 2023 Ford Ranger Wildtrak X include the trail turn assist and the trail control system. These two can aid the driver in dealing with difficult off-road situations through maneuverability and traction, respectively.
