The Toyota Cressida is a sedan initially offered as a compact vehicle but was later revamped to join the midsize market. It features a classic exterior detailed with a lengthened bonnet and rear. Launch
The Toyota Cressida was launched in December 1976. In Japan, it is known as the Toyota Mark II which gained popularity since 1968 due to its attractive exterior, comfortable cabin, and a wide array of engine options to choose from.
The first generation Toyota Cressida was built with a premium European-styled exterior incorporated with the elegance Toyota S80 crown series. It boasted a large body powered by a 2.0-liter engine.
The second-generation Toyota Cressida was unveiled in 1983. It was offered as a sedan, and as a station wagon equipped with a refreshed exterior, interior, and a more powerful body structure.
Its third generation was built in the Philippines through the partnership of Toyota Motor Corporation and Delta Motors Corporation. A two-door coupe and a four-door sedan were made available worldwide.
The fourth and last generation Toyota Cressida was released in 1988 and was offered with a premium interior. Today, the closest successor to the Cressida is the Toyota Camry.
Exterior
The Toyota Cressida measures 4,690mm long, 1,695mm wide, and 1,375mm tall. It features a lengthened body detailed with an elongated front fascia, a wide set of headlights, a broad slotted chrome grille, front chrome and black strip trim that extends to the rear, durable front and rear body-colored bumpers, chrome-colored door handles, wide tail lights with chrome detailing, and a set of highly-detailed 15-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
The Toyota Cressida offers a spacious cabin for five passengers courtesy of its 2,682mm wheelbase. Interior highlights include woodgrain trimmings, automatic shoulder belts, power windows and locks, tilt-telescoping steering wheel, leather-covered bucket seats, and a power moonroof for top variants.

It mated with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
