Locally, the available variants are the Nissan X-Trail 2.0 4x2 CVT and the Nissan X-Trail 2.5 4x4 CVT. It comes in Pearl White, Diamond Black, and Gun Metallic. To elevate its irresistible presence on the road, the colors Marine Blue and Premium Corona Orange are also offered.
Launch
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has been producing the Nissan X-Trail since the year 2000. It's one of the first crossovers released by the Japanese company meant to compete with the likes of the Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Tucson.
In the Philippines, the first generation was made available in 2003. It featured the vehicle’s iconic body shape everyone talked about. The current generation was launched in 2014 at the 5th Philippine International Motor Show. A finer and refreshed version was released in September 2017.

Exterior
The Nissan X-Trail has a commanding presence on the road. It measures 4,690mm long, 1,830mm wide, and 1,740mm tall. Its front bears a prominent V-Motion grille, LED boomerang-shaped headlamps with a distinct LED daytime running lights, and a modern bumper. Its rear displays chrome highlights and LED taillights.
Its beefed-up body features sleek curves and fine lines that aids the vehicle’s aerodynamic capabilities. Attached on its top are a set of roof rails that adds a sporty vibe.
Supporting this muscled crossover is a set of 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
Interior
Black is the theme inside the X-Trail’s spacious cabin that can accommodate seven people. Installed above is a power panoramic moonroof that provides natural lighting inside. Drivers will enjoy upgraded features such as the D-shaped steering wheel, center console with large color display, and the sporty, double-stitched leather shift boot with a refreshed knob. Going to the third-row seats is convenient as this vehicle offers an EZ Flex Seating System.
In terms of cargo loading, it offers an adjustable set of dividers and shelves that creates more space.
Technology & Safety
The X-Trail is equipped with the Nissan Intelligent Mobility that provides Forward Collision Braking and Warning, Blindspot Warning System with Cross-Traffic Alert, and an Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection.
In terms of safety, it fitted with a good number of airbags, anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, parking sensors, hill start assist, and hill descent control.
Chassis & Platform
The design of the Nissan X-Trail is based on the jointly developed Nissan/Renault Common Module Family platform architecture. It is built with a Macpherson Strut suspension at the front and an independent, Multi-link suspension at the rear. Braking is assisted by discs at the front and back.
Engine & Drivetrain
This versatile compact crossover is offered in a front-wheel-drive and an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. The X-Trail runs using either a 2.0-liter gasoline engine paired with Nissan Xtronic CVT that generates 142 hp with a torque of 200 Nm or a 2.5-liter engine that produces 168 hp and a torque of 223 Nm.
