The Land Rover Defender 90 is a short wheelbase version of the Defender 110, offering a 2-door and compact body configuration. New to the PH-spec Defender this year is the addition of a diesel powertrain which enhances the off-road capabilities of the model as it packs more torque at low RPM.
Exterior
Design-wise, the new Land Rover Defender 90 bears the same exterior details as the Defender 110, just shorter in length. It still comes with the same boxy-style body design, snazzy-looking round daytime running lights (DRLs) that give the model its strong off-road look upfront, and blacked-out fender flares and side sills.
It improves the versatility of the SUV
Land Rover Philippines is offering the Defender 90 with four accessory packs, namely the Urban, Country, Adventure, and Explorer. These accessory packs create a distinct character from each other. It also provides a more enhanced off-road look especially with the Explorer that includes a black hood decal, raised air intake, and more.
Interior
Moving to the interior, the Land Rover Defender 90 is designed with a neat-looking dashboard, a premium cabin theme with off-road design touches, and grained leather and robust woven textile seat facings. The driver and front passenger benefit from 12-way semi-powered seats for enhanced comfort.
A rugged yet classy interior
Despite the newly-arrived model’s shorter wheelbase rated at 435mm as compared to the long-wheelbase version, it still offers similar head and legroom spaces. However, the Defender 110 provides more cargo space which can be installed with third-row seats as an option.
Tech & Safety
Integrated into the center console is a 10-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system that is equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Navigation. This intuitive and user-friendly system is said to require fewer inputs to perform frequently used tasks that enable an instant response.

As for safety, the 5-seater SUV is installed with six airbags (including driver and passenger, side curtain, and thorax), a 3D surround camera, 360-degree parking aid, lane keep assist, wade sensing system, cruise control, speed limiter, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive speed limiter.
Engine
Powering the Land Rover Defender 90 is a state-of-the-art Ingenium D240 twin-turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of generating 238 hp and 430 Nm of torque. It utilizes an all-wheel-drive system, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and independent front and rear suspensions with adaptive dynamics.
Now more off-road ready with its new Ingenium D240 diesel engine
Its new body architecture also provides a ground clearance rated at 226mm and a maximum wading depth of 850 complemented by its wade sensing system which displays warnings when driving through water. The said performance features allow the British SUV to conquer even the toughest of off-road.
