Jeep Philippines is now ready to join the pickup truck battle as it officially launches the 2020 Gladiator. It comes in two variants, Gladiator Sport and Gladiator Rubicon, with a price tag of Php 3,890,000 and Php 4,790,000 respectively.

Say hello to the Jeep Gladiator

The Jeep Gladiator is based on the fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler JL. As expected, this midsize pickup truck is integrated with the same ruggedness and capability that the brand is known for.

However, this is not the first emergence of the Gladiator nameplate since Jeep used the said name during the 60s. Then, it made its comeback when Jeep unveiled the Gladiator at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, which is the model that’s currently available in the local market.

The Jeep Gladiator is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine

The Jeep Gladiator 2020 lives up to its name, and you can easily tell that this pickup truck is no pushover. It has a bold and composed stance that could go head-on with other midsize pickups in the local market.

Under the hood, both Gladiator variants are powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that puts out 285 hp and 352 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automotive transmission.

In terms of the exterior design, the Gladiator looks like a Wrangler with the added functionality of a cargo bed. It is fitted with the brand’s iconic grille, as well as LED headlights, daytime running lights, fog lamps, and taillights for the top-spec Gladiator Rubicon. The Gladiator Sport, on the other hand, comes with halogens.

The Gladiator is ready to go to battle

Jeep’s pickup truck also comes with a vented hood, which is dubbed as the power dome. This is responsible for helping the engine compartment remain at an optimum temperature. In addition, the Jeep Gladiator has removable aluminum doors and windshield, similar to the Wrangler.

The top-spec Gladiator Rubicon is finished off with a set of 17-inch polished black aluminum wheels. And oh, the Gladiator Rubicon comes standard with steel rear bumpers and rock rails.

The black and red interior of the Gladiator looks good

The interior of the Gladiator Rubicon features a black theme along with red accents as seen on the dashboard, and stitchings. Placed at the center is the 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Of note, the infotainment system comes with a rubberized frame, which protects the system in the event of a sudden downpour while you’re driving the Gladiator with the top off.

The instrument cluster also comes with a 7.0-inch TFT color display, which offers a plethora of information regarding the vehicle. It is customizable, allowing you to choose the information most important to be shown at all times.

This pickup truck is also equipped with tech goodies that make your drive safer and more comfortable. It has a remote start system that allows you to start the Gladiator’s engine by simply pressing the key fob twice.

The Gladiator is also integrated with a blind spot monitoring system, as well as a rear back-up camera. To add the icing on the cake, this pickup truck comes with Fox Shocks suspensions and it has a towing capacity of 7,000 lbs.
