The all-new 2023 Kia EV6 has finally landed on Philippine shores. Locally, its sole available variant is the GT-Line Long Range trim priced at Php 3,788,000.

Note that the Kia EV6 was first previously locally at the 2022 Philippine International Motor Show. It uses the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which it shares with the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
So what is this new electric vehicle (EV) from Kia Philippines offering to prospective buyers? Let’s check it out in detail to find out.
Exterior
When styling is concerned, the EV6 model gets an exterior that achieves a good balance of sportiness and elegance.
Its front end, for starters, assumes a distinctive, wedge-like shape. This section of the car is then host to a pair of sharp-looking automatic LED headlamp clusters flanking a sleek and thin grille.

Further down below the car’s front end is a detailed lower bumper that has plenty of gloss black decorative pieces.
The front section of the EV6 is then topped by a clamshell hood that gets two eye-catching character lines that lead toward the vehicle’s windshield pillars.
The side then gets a graceful look thanks to a sloping window line, and a set of flush door handles. Likewise found on the lower portion of the vehicle’s side is a black gloss trim, that appears to link together with the LED light bar on the rear.

The rear end then amps up the car’s hypermodern design thanks to its LED light bar strip that straddles its entire width. Down below, its look is further enhanced by a black-colored diffuser that’s decorated with a silver trim piece.
Completing the look of the EV6 is a set of 20-inch wheels. Other features on the exterior of this Kia EV are a fin-type antenna, a panoramic sunroof, a power tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, etc.
Interior
Step inside the Kia EV6 and you’ll find a well-arranged cabin with ample room for up to five occupants.
The front cabin is particularly eye-catching thanks to its curvy center console and its sloped dashboard.
Touch controls for its automatic air-conditioning system are positioned below the two main central vents. Other buttons for driver-centric functions like the push-to-start button, the electronic parking brake, cruise control, and others are physical in nature.

The seats of the EV6 are then wrapped in black suede with white leather accents. Both the driver and front passenger seats get an eight-way power adjustable function and two-way lumber support adjustability. Both front seats are cooled as well.
Its second row then comes with a 60:40 split-folding feature which pairs well with the power tailgate to provide easy trunk loading and unloading.
Tech & Safety
Dominating the dashboard of the Kia EV6 is a 12.3-inch central touchscreen that’s seamlessly linked with a 12.3-inch LCD multi-function driver display. Together, these two form a panoramic curved display.
For connectivity, the aforementioned central touchscreen comes with Bluetooth, USB connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Audio is then fed into the cabin by a 14-piece Meridian Sound System.

Standard safety equipment present on the Kia EV6 is a total of six airbags, antilock braking, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchors, etc.
The EV6 likewise comes with a host of advanced driver-assistive safety technologies. These include Smart Cruise Control (adaptive cruise control), blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear-cross traffic avoidance, driver attention warning, a 360-degree view camera, and a parking distance warning.
Powertrain
Propelling the Kia EV6 GT-Line Long Range model is a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). At maximum, it can produce up to 226 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the EV6’s rear wheels via a single-speed automatic gearbox.
The PMSM is then powered by a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. Kia claims that this provides a range of 582 kilometers and can be charged from 10 to 80 percent via a DC fast charger in just 18 minutes.

Note that the EV6 gets three drive modes. These are Normal, Sport, and Eco mode.
The stopping power for this Kia-made EV is then handled by four disc brakes and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality. It then uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension.
