Honda is capping off the year with the introduction of the 2021 Accord. Aside from getting subtle design updates and a new Sport Special Editon (SE) trim, the debut of the new Accord shows Honda’s commitment to continue producing sedans. In a nutshell, the 2021 Accord comes with a restyled look, updated tech, and more standard features.
The facelifted 2021 Honda Accord
The front end of the 2021 Accord looks quite similar to the outgoing model. However, if you look closer, you’ll notice that it is fitted with a revamped grille. We find the new grille design more appealing and classier than the outgoing model. The fog lights housing also has a new look, which is now more subtle as compared to the previous version.
Turning at the side, the Honda Accord comes with a carryover design except for the new set of alloy wheels. Of note, the SE and Hybrid trims of the 2021 Accord sit on a set of 19-inch alloy wheels. The rear is likewise the same in comparison to the outgoing model. It still has the Accord’s usual large taillights, lip spoiler, and large bumper. The Hybrid variant, on the other hand, has trim-specific badges on the trunk lid and front fenders. It also has a blue H-mark on the grille.

All Accord variants now come with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen that has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. On the other hand, the EX-L and Touring trims of the Accord are integrated with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda says that this eliminates the extra step of physically connecting the phone, which results in a more seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
In terms of safety, the Honda Accord 2021 is equipped with a new Rear Seat Reminder, a feature that could help preoccupied drivers. The said tech chimes when the car is turned off along with a notification on the digital meter reminding drivers to check the rear seating area when exiting the car for children, pets, or other precious cargo.
As a side note, this feature is also seen in some Nissan vehicles. In addition, the 2021 Accord gets a Rear Seatbelt Reminder that shows a warning on the digital meter to let drivers know if rear seat passengers have not fastened their seatbelts.
There are three power unit options for the 2021 Honda Accord
Honda added that it has also updated the Accord’s adaptive cruise control as it now comes with smoother braking when following another vehicle. It has also revamped its lane keep assist system and the Japanese carmaker said that it now “offers more effective and natural lane centering.”
Meanwhile, the Touring and Hybrid Touring variants of the 2021 Accord feature a new front and rear braking system called Low Speed Braking Control. Through the help of sonar-based parking sensors, the new system can sense solid objects at low speeds, and warn the driver or apply the brakes to help avoid or mitigate a collision.
