The small crossover looks a bit more mature now.

The local subcompact crossover segment is packed with sleek and stylish models that help attract young car buyers. Volkswagen may have an answer to this demand with the unveiling of the facelifted T-Cross.

Facelifted Volkswagen T-Cross

Over in the European market, the facelifted Volkswagen T-Cross is arriving with a more rugged look similar to its bigger crossover siblings, the T-Roc. It features redesigned front and rear bumpers, which are said to have increased the overall length by 27 mm.

The exterior lighting system has also been updated, with the headlights getting new graphics. Meanwhile, the taillights come with a new X motif that adds a more distinct and stylish finish to the rear end.

The crossover gets a more mature look

Inside, the cabin hosts a revised dashboard with added soft-touch paddings. For a chic look, the higher-end variants come with decorative stitching.

VW integrated tech upgrades for the facelifted iteration. The entry-level variant is equipped with a new eight-inch touchscreen, while its higher-end variants get a larger 9.2-inch head unit. Additionally, the German automaker said that screens use the latest software.

Revised interior of the T-Cross

Under the hood, no powertrain changes were made for the Euro-spec T-Cross. This means the crossover still has two turbocharged options, namely the 150-horsepower 1.5-liter DSG and 1.0-liter TSI available with either 95 horsepower or 116 horsepower. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The PH-spec T-Cross, in comparison, is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine good for 111 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. It is matched with a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Deliveries will start early next year

It is still unclear whether we will get to see the refreshed Volkswagen T-Cross on Philippine roads soon, especially considering that the local units are sourced from China. What we know for now is that the deliveries of the facelifted model will begin in its home market in the first quarter of 2024.

As of this writing, the VW brand has delivered over 1.2 million units of the T-Cross. Volkswagen Philippines is offering the small crossover for Php 1,340,000 for the sole 180 MPI AT SE variant.
