According to Tiongco, a high school teacher in Cagayan de Oro City, brand reputation is important when choosing a vehicle. It was her mother who helped her choose the T-Cross as their family’s first Volkswagen vehicle.

“When [my mother] was young, Volkswagen was already an elite brand and had built a reputation for craftsmanship, precision, engineering, and durability. Plus, she’s forever a fan of ‘The Love Bug’ movie where the cute and sturdy Beetle is the star,” said Tiongco.

According to Tiongo, the Volkswagen T-Cross in Syringa Violet is the ideal vehicle for her as she can use it not only for personal daily driver but for work as well. Thanks to the 329 liters of cargo space, she can transport teaching materials easily. Its trunk can expand up to 1,319 liters of cargo space when the rear bench seats are folded down.

She likes that the crossover has a sunroof

When it comes to outside work, Tiongco gets to enjoy the crossover on the go with its 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay. This system is said to let the teacher enjoy high-quality digital surround sound projection when she listens to her favorite tracks.

Tiongco also finds driving the T-Cross smooth when she goes out on the highway. This is thanks to its 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that’s good for 111 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The engine sends power to the front wheels via a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with a Sport mode.

Making the drives safer are features such as Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), Hill Hold Control, and Anti-Slip Regulation. The vehicle is also equipped with a rear parking distance control and a rear camera for easier maneuvers into a parking spot.

The VW brand enticed Tiongco to get a T-Cross

As part of the “Keep your Volkswagen running like a Volkswagen,” the T-Cross comes with a once-a-year periodic maintenance service (PMS), 100,000 km or 3-year warranty (whichever comes first), 3-month stock on parts, Express Service, and free 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA).

Volkswagen Philippines is offering the T-Cross in the sole 180 MPI AT SE variant at Php 1,340,000.

“Buying this was not only a smart choice for my lifestyle, but also for our wallet,” added Tiongco.

Tiongco isn’t the only customer to share her satisfaction with her Volkswagen. Mon Buela found his “perfect daily driver” with the Volkswagen Lavida, saying that he doesn’t see himself changing his brand in the future.
