The Philippine motorsport community received a piece of unfortunate news last weekend during the first leg of the 2021 Toyota Gazoo Racing Vios Cup. Tetsuya Omura, one of the significant individuals in the local racing scene, was rushed to the hospital due to a stroke.

Car enthusiast and racer Marc Soong shared through a Facebook post date July 11, 2021 that Tetsuya has been operated on and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Medical City Clark. Soong added that Tetsuya has “responded when the doctor pressed on his chest by raising his hand.”
Soong has now organized a track day that will be held at the Clark International Speedway on August 1. The said event is meant to be a track day for a cause for Tetsuya’s road to recovery. Dubbed Track 4 Tet, Soong explained that all proceeds during the said track day will go to Tetsuya’s medical fund.

The Track 4 Tet will have a Php 3,000 track day fee, and a Php 500 fee for spectators. Interested individuals can pay on the track day itself at the entrance gate or send the payment in advance and show proof of deposit. Health and safety protocols will be implemented during the track day event including a health check at the gate.
The organizers are also accepting donations. For individuals who want to send assistance already, Soong shared that it may be through Banco de Oro (BDO) or GCash. Here are the details:

He has coached numerous racing teams in the Philippines such as Toyota San Fernando Racing in the Vios Cup, and Cleanfuel-Motul Racing team in the Formula V1 Challenge.
