The automaker is finding ways to shorten the delivery time.

Toyota Motor Corporation issued an apology regarding the Land Cruiser’s long four-year waitlist. This confirms the rumor about the matter last year.

The Japanese marque didn’t disclose any further information about the lengthened delivery dates. But one can expect that aside from the high demand globally, factors such as a shortage of semiconductor chips and the recent shutdown of Toyota production in Japan due to the Omicron variant are contributing to the delay. Here is the automaker’s statement:

“Thank you for considering and ordering our vehicle. The Land Cruiser is very popular not only in Japan but also in other countries around the world. It is expected that it will take a long time to deliver before receiving your order. We sincerely apologize.”

“The delivery time for ordering from now on may be about four years. We will do our utmost to shorten the delivery time for our customers, and we appreciate your understanding.”

The demands for the all-new Land Cruiser are off the charts

Introduced in June 2021, the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is designed with a lighter GA-F platform based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA). It also brings new V6 engines, replacing the V8 power units from the previous generation. A GR Sport version of the full-size SUV has been made available as well.

Since the four-year waitlist covers orders around the world, Filipino car buyers might have to wait that long before getting their hands behind the SUV’s wheel as well. Locally, the PH-spec Land Cruiser Philippines is offered in two variants, namely the base XV and top-spec ZX. Pricing starts at Php 5,210,000 and goes up to Php 5,672,000, with a Php 15,000 option for the White Pearl Crystal Shine color.

The Japanese marque is finding ways to fast-track the production

Toyota noted that the long waitlist can still change depending on the production situation in the future. As such, let’s hope for circumstances to get better, as four years is a long time in an industry where vehicle developments and tech updates arrive in the blink of an eye.
