As reported a few days ago, Motor Image Subaru will be bringing in the all-new WRX both in sedan and wagon body styles.
The 2022 Subaru WRX sedan
Recently, we have confirmed the said variants, as well as the prices for these upcoming Subaru models.
2022 Subaru WRX sedan variants | SRP |
WRX Sedan 2.4 MT | Php 2,508,000 |
WRX Sedan 2.4 CVT | Php 2,658,000 |
WRX Sedan tS CVT (indent only) | Php 2,808,000 |
2022 Subaru WRX wagon variants | SRP |
WRX Wagon CVT | Php 2,558,000 |
WRX Wagon tS CVT (indent only) | Php 2,708,000 |
Based on the table above, there will be three sedan variants and two wagon variants. Only the sedan will get a manual transmission variant as its entry-level offering. Both body styles will then get the tS as their top-spec model, which will be brought in via indent order basis only.
The wagon in turn will not come with a manual variant. Interestingly, its base and higher-spec trims both sit at a lower price point than their equivalents on the sedan version.
The Subaru WRX GTB sold in Australia and New Zealand
Of note, we are yet to become familiar with the finer details regarding these variants’ differences in specs. But we do know that Subaru Philippines did choose the WRX Wagon over the new Levorg due to the former’s more powerful engine.
Both the all-new WRX sedan and wagon both use the same 2.4-liter boxer engine that can produce up to 271 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It is then paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission with an eight-speed paddle shift manual mode.

Of course, the upcoming WRX sedan and wagon are all kitted out with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, active torque vectoring, and the latest iteration of the Subaru EyeSight driver assist safety suite.
