Starting July 12, 2021, San Miguel Corporation (SMC) will begin collecting toll fees for the Skyway Stage 3. The said toll fees will follow a revised toll fee matrix. This new matrix offers lower toll fees compared to the old toll fee matrix that was proposed by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) back in January 2021.
The free use was convenient, but then again, SMC needs funds to maintain Skyway Stage 3
SMC’s announcement follows the fact that the company has now received a Toll Operating Permit from the TRB. The aforementioned toll fees for Skyway Stage 3 will be posted at toll plazas before July 12. Here is the updated toll fee matrix:

Regarding the final approved toll matrix, SMC President and CEO Ramon Ang said that the TRB has “taken into consideration the pandemic, its impact on the economy, and on Filipinos.”
Furthermore, Ang thanked the TRB for determining the right toll rates to be implemented. He acknowledges that many are experiencing hard times right now, and so having cheaper or lower toll rates will definitely help a lot of motorists.
“We thank the TRB for helping us determine the most equitable toll rates for our motorists. We know from experience that times are hard for many, and even a little relief for motorists can go a long way. These toll rates reflect our deferral of the collection of a substantial amount of the cost to build Skyway 3. We also further lowered the rates for those traveling shorter distances,” said Ang.
The approved toll rates, according to Ang, will be enough for the Skyway Stage 3 to operate smoothly. The collected toll will also help with the said thoroughfare’s maintenance thus keeping a safe and convenient driving experience for all of its users.
The Skyway Stage Quirino Avenue Southbound exit
As of May this year, the latest exit to open on Skyway Stage 3 was the Quirino Avenue Southbound exit. Earlier in April, SMC also opened the Nagtahan exit.
Skyway on-and off-ramps that have been opened to the public since July 2 are the following: Buendia SB Exit and NB Entry, Quirino NB and SB Exit, Plaza Dilao SB Entry, Nagtahan SB and NB Exit, E. Rodriguez SB Exit, Quezon Ave SB Exit and Entry, Quezon Ave NB Exit and Entry, A. Bonifacio NB Exit, NLEX NB Exit, and NLEX SB Entry.
In the future, Skyway Stage 3 might also be getting a Bus Rapid Transit System. For now though, this particular project is still in its planning stages so we’ll have to wait for more updates from SMC.
