The elevated tollway is inching closer to completion.

Tollway operator San Miguel Corporation (SMC) announced the opening of the Skyway Stage 3’s Nagtahan exits at both the northbound and southbound sections. This will provide motorists with direct access to the district of Sta. Mesa and the City of Manila.

SMC President Ramon Ang and DPWH Secretary Mark Villar lead the opening of the new ramps

The opening of the additional routes increases the number of operational access ramps along the elevated tollway. These include the Buendia (Zobel) entry, Nagtahan exit, Quezon Avenue exit, Quezon Avenue entry, and A. Bonifacio/Balintawak exits for the northbound lane, while Balintawak entry, Quezon Avenue exit, Quezon Avenue entry, E. Rodriguez exit, Plaza Dilao entry, and Buendia (Zobel) exit make up the southbound section.

According to SMC President and Chief Operating Officer Ramon S. Ang, the Nagtahan exit ramps will shorten travel time to Manila as well as ease congestion along major thoroughfares that feed vehicular traffic into Sta. Mesa.

“We are committed to fully delivering the remaining access ramps of Skyway 3 in the soonest possible time,” he said, adding that there are additional access points on the way. These include the Quirino exit (heading to Roxas Blvd.), Quirino entry, Nagtahan entry, E. Rodriguez entry, and Sgt. Rivera (C3) exit for the northbound pass. A. Bonifacio entry, Sgt. Rivera (C3) exit, Sgt. Rivera (C3) entry, and Quirino exit comprise the upcoming southbound ramps.

The company is doubling down on its efforts to finish the remaining ramps as soon as possible

Ang expressed his gratitude to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for supporting SMC’s infrastructure projects despite the ongoing pandemic. He adds that the company will intensify its efforts to complete the remaining ramps for use by motorists.

“(SMC) is taking advantage of the dry season to fast-track the completion of ramps as we want more motorists to reap the benefits of additional interchanges in between Buendia and NLEX,” said DPWH Secretary Mark Villar.

SMC also recently opened the Skyway Extension project’s four-kilometer northbound stretch from Susana Heights in Alabang to Sucat in Paranaque, enabling motorists to bypass the Alabang viaduct en route to the Skyway System.
