Kia Philippines has teased the arrival of the new facelifted Seltos. While the company rolled out a short six-second for the refreshed Seltos, the details remain scarce. But we may have an idea as the facelifted model already made its way to other markets.
The new Kia Seltos is coming
The Kia Seltos facelift made its debut at the 2022 Busan Motor Show with updates that make the subcompact crossover look more modern. The tiger-nose grille was slightly revamped to accommodate the extended daytime running lights (DRLs) – which was also restyled.
But the more prominent change is found at the back with the integration of full-width taillights. Speaking of which, the cluster was also tweaked with a simpler yet more striking finish. And of course, the crossover now sports the brand’s new logo.
Inside, the shift lever was replaced with a rotary gear selector – which is something other Kia cars like the EV6 also feature. There’s also the unified instrument cluster and infotainment system screen, giving the cabin a more modern appearance similar to the exterior.
Refreshed Kia Seltos
Looking at global markets, the refreshed Seltos is available with a 1.6-liter turbo and a 2.0-liter engine – both run on gasoline. The former makes 195 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque, while the latter can churn out 147 horsepower and 179 Nm of torque.
Available in either two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the vehicle uses an intelligent variable transmission (IVT), the brand’s version of a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Kia Philippines did not mention the launch date of this alleged facelifted Seltos. The company only said that the model is “coming soon.”
It now sports full-width taillights
What we do know is that the Korean automaker will launch four new models by 2024. One of which is a refreshed model, and this should point to the facelifted Seltos. Kia PH can still launch the refreshed Seltos before the year ends. The other models will be an all-new iteration, a hybrid vehicle, and an electric vehicle (EV).
