At the 2022 edition of the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Kia Motor Philippines launched one of its most high-tech models yet. This model is dubbed as the EV6, and as its name indicates, it’s a fully-electric crossover.
The all-new Kia EV6 makes its Philippine premiere at the 2022 PIMS
On seeing the Kia EV6, you’ll be greeted by an exterior full of sharp lines and sculpted shapes. Its hood is particularly muscular, and its front end gets a pair of very sharp-looking headlamp clusters.
The side of this electric Kia model also sports noticeable creases on its wheel arches. It also gets deep crevasses on its side sills, as well as a sleek window line that terminates sharply towards the rear with a tapered roof.
The rear then gets an LED strip bisecting the width of the car. This is positioned just below a ducktail trunk-mounted spoiler. Further down below is a black-colored air dam.
All of the exterior bits of the EV6 collectively make for a sleek and aerodynamic vehicle. This of course helps in this vehicle’s overall range, which we’ll talk about in a bit.
One can see that Kia really took care to make it sleek
Inside the EV6 is an equally comfy but stylish interior that’s made with premium materials. It also gets a whole host of advanced safety technologies like a lane following assist system, rear cross traffic collision avoidance, among others.
Propelling the EV6 is an electric motor that can churn out 226 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. It is then powered by a 77.4 kWh battery pack. With this powertrain, Kia claims that this crossover EV is capable of a 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds. It also affords this vehicle a range of more than 500 km (based on U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s rating system).
The Kia EV6 will go on sale for the Philippine market in early 2023. Kia then says that it will be priced below Php 4,000,000. No exact price was given for this EV model for now.
Also, the marque also shared that a Cable Control Box charger is packaged together with the vehicle. A wall-mounted charger can also be purchased by the buyer. It can then be installed by Greenstrum, Kia Philippines’ affiliate.

For Kia Philippines, this is a big deal as this is their first-ever EV model. The launching of this EV also aligns with the brand’s global and local directive to adapt more electrified models. In fact, Kia will be installing over 20 EV charging stations in the coming weeks all across seven cities in Luzon. This of course offers future buyers of the Kia EV6 a charging network making it viable for long trips.
Besides this EV, several other models from the Korean marque are also displayed at their booth during the duration of PIMS. These include the Kia Soluto, the Kia Stonic, Kia Sorento, and Kia Carnival.
