Volkswagen Philippines announced last week that the Multivan Kombi will make a comeback in the country by the third quarter of 2021. The German automaker hasn’t disclosed the full details of the PH-spec VW Multivan Kombi, but fortunately, Volkswagen BGC gave us a first look at the car brand’s latest addition to the local lineup.
The PH-spec Volkswagen Mutivan Kombi
The Volkswagen Multivan Kombi that will be offered to Filipino car buyers is the sixth-generation model (T6) instead of the new seventh-gen version (T7). As seen in the teaser photos, the PH-spec Kombi bears a two-tone paint scheme complemented by chrome trims found on the lower portion of the German van.
Both the headlights and taillights are equipped with LED lighting which provides a more upscale look on the go. Another exterior feature that can be seen in the shared photos is its 17-inch alloy wheels. As of this writing, only one unit is shown by Volkswagen BGC so we have to wait for further announcements regarding the model’s color options.

Moving to the interior, the PH-spec Volkswagen Multivan Kombi comes with a spacious 7-seating configuration, with the second row utilizing captain chairs so passengers can adjust to the most comfortable seating position. It is also installed with a digital instrument cluster, LED ambient lighting, and an infotainment touchscreen.
An innovative-looking dash layout
No pricing has been rolled out by Volkswagen Philippines just yet. Now, considering that the Type 2 is assembled in Europe, one can expect that its market value should be relatively higher as compared to how the rest of the Volkswagen models in the Philippines are priced.
All the current Volkswagen models in the country are imported from China which makes these vehicles benefit from the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement, resulting in more affordable pricing.
